If the current page (the page displayed in the page area) is on a sequence and you create a new page, CuteSITE Builder places the new page on that sequence.
If the current page has a down link to a sequence and you create a new page, it is placed on the down-level sequence.
You can also choose Insert > Page, right-click the map and choose Insert Page, or press Ctrl+Shift+N to create a page.
If you are displaying the outline, you can also right-click the outline area and choose Insert Page.
The Text page layout is the default page layout, and is the most frequently used layout for pages in a Web site. You can, however, choose another page layout from the dropdown list. The dropdown list includes all page layouts from the design you selected for the Web site file, as well as any page layouts that you have created for this file.
To change which layout CuteSITE Builder displays as the default, choose Format > Apply Page Layout, select the layout you want, and then select Use this layout for new pages.
After the page is created you can apply a different page layout, by choosing Format > Apply Page Layout.
A page’s appearance in the map depends on your recent actions.
Most CuteSITE Builder page layouts include navigation links by default. There are two types of navigation links: either a series of navigation buttons, or a list of links. These links are not active until you place the page on a sequence or establish an up level link. Navigation button links appear while you are authoring a file, but if you don’t put the page in a sequence or add an up level link to or from the page, they will not appear when the file is published.
Navigation links and title fields are considered static text in CuteSITE Builder page layouts, which means you must follow a special step before you edit or delete them: right-click on the text and choose Unlock Static Text. A lock cursor indicates the presence of static text. If you do need to delete a title or navigation links in order to modify a page layout when creating a Web design, be aware that doing so may create compatibility problems between your design and CuteSITE Builder designs.
