Copying an EFT Server Configuration to Several Computers

Copying or migrating EFT Server configuration might be necessary for several reasons, such as:

Installation and Deployment Considerations

Consider the following before moving a configuration from the source to the target system:

To set up the deployment configuration

  1. Install and activate the product on the source system.

  2. Configure the Sites, Users, Groups, file and folder permissions, Event Rules, Users, and so on.

  3. Exit EFT Administrator and stop the GlobalSCAPE EFT Server service in the Services dialog box (in the Windows control panel).

  4. Copy the following files from EFT Server installation directory to the target computer:

  1. Create the same physical folder (directory you create on your hard drive from the EFT Server) structure on the target system as the folder structure created by the configuration of the source computer.

  2. The easiest way to duplicate the physical folder structure is to copy the folder structure from the source to the target.

  3. Install and activate the product on the target system.

  4. Cancel the automatic setup wizard that appears the first time you run EFT Administrator.

  5. Exit EFT Administrator and stop the GlobalSCAPE EFT Server service in the Services dialog box (in the Windows control panel).

  6. Paste the files gathered from the source system into the EFT Server installation folder on the target system, overwriting existing files as necessary (which should only be FTP.cfg at this point).

  7. Restart the GlobalSCAPE EFT Server service and login using EFT Administrator.

  8. Double-check server and Site configuration. The target system setup is now complete.
