GlobalSCAPE Secure FTP Server consists of the FTP server engine (cftpte.exe) and an Administrator Interface (cftpsai.exe). You can use the Administrator Interface to connect to the server engine on a local or remote computer. You are allowed to install cftpsai.exe on as many computers as you like in order to remotely administer the server. You may copy the binary file from the GlobalSCAPE Secure FTP Server folder or reinstall the software and choose to only install the Administrator Interface.
When you first run GlobalSCAPE Secure FTP Server you will be prompted for an administrator password. This password is stored in the server engine. If the local server is running and you know the administrator password, the administrator port, and the IP address of the remote server, you may later connect to the server remotely using the Administrator Interface.
Because it may compromise server security, you will be prohibited from creating or signing certificates during remote administration.
